Wondering about coming to church?
You are welcome. Come as you are. You will be greeted at door and be given a service information sheet or book. Most mid morning and evening services last about an hour with prayers, short bible readings, hymns or worship songs and a talk.
We have a variety of styles of worship – contemporary, traditional, reflective, informal. There is more information for each church and service on www.achurchnearyou.com
Sit where you want. During prayers, sit or kneel, whichever you feel comfortable with.
A collection may be taken but please regard yourself as our guest this week.
If you would like someone sit with you or explain more what will go on, ask the parish beforehand or mention it to the person who greets you. No problem. There is often coffee afterwards. Please join us.
Many things go on outside the Sunday sessions and we are also involved in the community. Details are on the web sites and often on weekly welcome/what’s on sheets in the church.
Staff and those who greet you are sensitive to the needs of individuals who have a disability or who learn differently. We recognise that the church community is only complete if all are included.
Assistance dogs are welcome.
Where possible, churches have suitable access, hearing/induction loop systems, large print sheets etc: however, these may not always be available in smaller churches. For more information see Features and Facilities in www.achurchnearyou.com Parishes will be pleased to answer questions.
